The rewards of the summer garden are
plentiful! The
garden bounty is copious! Every family circle seems
to have at least one avid gardener with more
tomatoes and green beans and peppers than he or she can use on his/her own. Luckily for us, gardeners’ generosity overflows. Capitol Spine & Rehabilitation encourages
Baton Rouge chiropractic patients to appreciatively accept
those green beans, peppers and tomatoes
and feast on them for an amazing anti-oxidant and nutritional
boost to fight inflammation, heart disease, cancer, and more! Capitol Spine & Rehabilitation welcomes
all of these benefits!
ANTI-OXIDANT, ANTI-INFLAMMATORY, ANTI-DISEASE
Capitol Spine & Rehabilitation knows this is an incredible
list of benefits. It is difficult to detach
these actions from each other! They are all healthy benefits.
Tomatoes are very full of
nutrients, supplying vitamin C,
potassium and lycopene, an anti-oxidant that supports cancer and
heart disease prevention and anti-inflammatory activity. (1,2) To boost
absorption of lycopene, eat tomatoes with some tasty,
healthy fats like olives, avocados or similar oils. (3) Bell and
chili peppers are bursting with vitamins C, A, E, K1 and potassium, folic acid and fiber. [We all could use
a little more fiber in our diets! Speaking of fiber,
green beans are amazing sources. Plus,
they have large number of proteins, carotenoids, and
anti-oxidants with only a small number of calories. Green beans have
nutrients described as being anticarcinogenic, assisting the prevention and even the stopping the spread of some cancers throughout the
body. (4, 5, 6)] Additionally, peppers help
fight inflammation, too, with their anti-oxidants. Raw and roasted peppers have
anti-oxidant benefits. Roasting may increase or decrease those
benefits determined by the pepper type and stage
of their growth. (7,8,9) At any rate, your Baton Rouge
chiropractor urges you to eat some peppers, tomatoes,
and green beans! Your body will reward you!
