Baton Rouge OSTEOARTHRITIS SUFFERERS AND THEIR PAIN

Baton Rouge knee osteoarthritis is ordinary. There are numerous Baton Rouge knee pain sufferers. They are not alone! 240 million people around the globe live with osteoarthritis. That bothers about 10% of men and 18% of women. (1) Any Baton Rouge knee osteoarthritis sufferer knows about the knee pain, the morning stiffness, and the creaky joint motion that lessens the enjoyment of daily life. (1) It is just not very fun. Now a Mediterranean diet could be some fun though!

WHAT TO EAT ON A MEDITERRANEAN DIET

The Mediterranean diet incorporates plenty of fruits and vegetable, legumes and nuts, cereals and seeds, seafood and fish. The Mediterranean diet allows for moderate consumption of dairy, poultry and eggs in addition to red wine and olive oil as the main source of dietary lipids. (1) Yum! Eating a Mediterranean diet can be very delicious as well as exciting for a new Mediterranean diet follower.

BENEFITS OF THE MEDITERRANEAN DIET

Knee osteoarthritis involves inflammation as well as pain. A review of three research reports highlights that biomarkers of inflammation and cartilage degradation due to osteoarthritis decreased in the Mediterranean diet group. (1) Specifically, the pro-inflammatory cytokine IL-1α decreased in the Mediterranean diet group.
