Baton Rouge Back Pain with Hip Pain Helped with Exercise

Have you heard? Exercise is good. Capitol Spine & Rehabilitation bets you have! Whether we like it or not, we all must exercise, move, and get our blood flowing! Baton Rouge chiropractic patients are recommended to do some type of exercise as part of their overall treatment plan for hip pain as well as any related Baton Rouge back pain with good reason.  It is good!

SPECIFIC EXERCISES FOR SPECIFIC CONDITIONS

Since Capitol Spine & Rehabilitation cares for a lot of musculoskeletal pain like back pain and neck pain and related arm and leg pain, a new paper was quite thought-provoking! It documented the suggestion and benefit of exercise for several specific conditions. A list of exercises for various diseases – musculoskeletal system diseases like low back pain, hip fracture, osteoarthritis and osteoporosis – described the preventive and rehabilitative effects for each as well as the correct intensity and frequency. (1) Improved knee pain, function and quality of life stemmed from isolated hip and leg strengthening exercises. (2) Capitol Spine & Rehabilitation invites patients with knee, back and hip pain to our chiropractic practice.

HIP PAIN…OR BACK PAIN?

Hip pain issues occur alone. Hip pain issues may arise along with low back issues like spinal stenosis. Hips xrays alone are not reliable. MRIs are more reliable for confirming diagnosis. Hip pain may appear similar to lumbar spinal stenosis. (3) What Capitol Spine & Rehabilitation carefully checks for are non-spine related issues like avascular necrosis of the hip and hip fractures so that those may be co-managed as well. Capitol Spine & Rehabilitation ensures our patients get the care they require!

BACK PAIN RELATED HIP PAIN

Patients who have non-specific mechanical low back pain walk differently due to unique pelvic, hip and knee movements. They also are less able to extend their hip flexors and abductor muscles. (4) Researchers further described how low back pain influenced muscles of the lumbopelvic area. It is a big deal for back pain sufferers. Changes in hip muscles may come from alterations in the cross-sectional area and volume of muscle. Why is this important? Developing an exercise program to improve hip muscle function is valuable. (5) Surgeons are even finding value in having patients who choose back surgery do “prehabilitation” exercises before back surgery as it improved range of motion, leg pain intensity, lumbar spine extensor muscle endurance and walking capacity…with no adverse side effects. (6) Capitol Spine & Rehabilitation has treatment programs of exercise blended with evidence based spinal manipulation and nutrition to avert back surgery when feasible and56 pre-habilitate and rehabilitate Baton Rouge back pain patients!
