Spinal Manipulation Recommended for Back
Pain…Chiropractors are Skilled
The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality 2020 Report reports
that spinal manipulation is one of the effective, non-invasive,
non-pharmacological treatments for low back pain relief that improved
function and/or pain for more than 30 days. (1) Acupuncture, MBSR, exercise, low level
laser therapy, yoga, psychotherapy, massage rounded out
the list. The chiropractic profession encompasses back pain
specialists who competently provide spinal
manipulation. Chiropractic education concentrates on the management
of spine pain and delivery of spinal manipulation. Many folks think
of chiropractic for back pain relief. 22 million
Americans visit chiropractors each year. 35% do that
for back pain relief after sports and accident injuries, and muscle strains. Neck pain, arm pain, leg pain, and headache
are other spine related problems people for which they go
to chiropractors. (2) Fifteen percent of Australians see
a chiropractor each year. (3) 4.5 million Canadians see
a chiropractor annually. (4) Chiropractors like your

Baton Rouge CHIROPRACTIC TIP OF THE MONTH: Exercise the Quadratus Lumborum
The quadratus lumborum – a quadrilateral-shaped muscle - is
a paired muscle on the left and right side of the abdominal
wall. It’s a deep muscle and typically thought
of as a back muscle as it extends from the upper 4 lumbar vertebrae to the 12th rib. When
contracted, the quadratus lumborum triggers lateral flexion
of the lumbar spine and/or elevation of the pelvis. (5) Various bridge-type exercises are being examined as to how they strengthen the quadratus lumborum’s 2
layers of muscle in order for it to best add to the motor
control of the lumbar pain and avert back pain. (6) Capitol Spine & Rehabilitation
and you can talk about how your spine may benefit from such
exercise at your next Baton Rouge chiropractic visit to Capitol Spine & Rehabilitation.
